SUMMARY:

This position involves the ability to timely repair, service, and assist in overall upkeep of the corporate facility including various types of equipment and property while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to complete assigned tasks as directed from Facility Manager in a timely and safe manner;
• Must provide feedback and assertiveness to the repair needs of the building and functionality of various equipment;
• Use hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing equipment to perform maintenance activities;
• Ability to communicate well all levels of personnel while engaging in maintenance activity;
• Responsible for performing assigned housekeeping needs in and outside the facility as needed;
• Responsible for maintaining all assigned records and permits;
• Responsible for accurate and timely submission of reports, purchasing expenses and fire inspections;
• Inspect storage rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control;
• Perform Loss Prevention Inspections and participates in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies as necessary or as may be directed;
• Ensure services performed by outside vendors are properly completed/supervised in accordance with contracts/work orders;
• Coordinates work with other departments so as not to interrupt normal business functions;
• Maintain work area in a clean, safe and orderly manner;
• Act as 24-hour on-call liaison for all facility emergency and non-emergency situations;
• To complete any additional tasks or assignments given by management team

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent;
• Preferred 2-3 years strong mechanical experience working with various types of equipment including boiler, vacuums and air compressors;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Required general carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills;
• Required good mathematics, reading, and communication skills;
• Must be detail oriented and exemplify ability to follow through with instructions;
• Valid Drivers License;
• Must possess a sense of urgency on troubleshooting and repairing equipment for minimal downtime;
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts;
• Proven experience as a self-starter with limited supervision.
• Ability to work well within a team or independently
• Must have an innate desire to work and perform safely and be knowledgeable in safety regulations;
• Occasional travel to Winston-Salem office required;
• Must be flexible for overtime and weekend hours for special project demands.

• Must be able to use and work from heights using ladders and aerial lift devices;
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently throughout work shift;
• Ability to stand/walk constantly throughout work shift;
• Ability to squat, bend/twist as waist, knees and neck, frequently;
• Ability to use both hands simultaneously exerting push/pull force up
