Job SummaryThe Staff Accountant will work with a team of accounting professionals to support an accurate and efficient close for various processes and accounts, with a focus on payroll.
Key Performance Indicators
- On-time month-end close
- Reduction of manual journal entries
- No significant out-of-period adjustments
- Prepare the accurate recording of payroll accruals and expenses processed by payroll
- Offer analysis and insight to various functions to support growth initiatives in the business
- Collaborate closely with HR & Payroll to prepare appropriate reporting of salaries and benefits for both field and corporate functions
- Provide support to Financial Accounting Payroll Manager for analysis on medical and other benefit reserves
- Communicate any material change to the forecast/budget as soon as known to Financial Accounting Payroll Manager
- Align with accounting leadership as necessary to ensure intercompany balances are
approach
- Assist with the identification & implementation of areas for efficiency, automation and acceleration within the close process
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and detailed fluctuation analysis for accounting leadership
- Ensure security and integrity of financial information
- Assist with Internal and External Audits
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting of finance fields
- Experience with multi-unit organization
- Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with leaders and act as a partner on all financial related decisions.
- Thrive in a fast paced and changing environment while maintaining focus on delivering repeatable, reliable solutions with flawless execution and superior customer service.
- Ability to work independently, setting own priorities and objectives with leadership support.
- Skilled at focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, identifying next steps, and effectively meeting deadlines and achieving desired results.
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field or equivalent relevant experience -
- Masters in finance, accounting or related field - Preferred
