Republic Finance is Hiring a Compliance Specialist - Projects Near Baton Rouge, LA

Overview and Responsibilities:

Republic Finance is seeking a business-minded problem solver and project specialist to join a collaborative, high-performing Legal & Compliance team. In your role as Compliance Specialist-Projects, you will be responsible for collaborating with multiple internal departments to assist with project implementation, process management and workflow, and related policy and procedure work. This position is a hybrid role that can be located in our Baton Rouge, LA, Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC office.

  • Regularly attend project meetings, collaborate with team members from various departments to assess and map current processes and systems, and test proposed processes and systems.
  • Understand and identify impact of a process change on other processes and/or procedures.
  • Prepare and present project-related deliverables to project teams, which may include Executive Management team members.
  • Provide regular updates regarding tracked timelines to project teams and identify, mitigate and escalate project risks, as necessary.
  • Facilitate team problem solving and build subject matter expertise through the project life cycle.
  • Work with Company departments and the Executive Management team to develop Company policy, document Company policy and procedure by revising existing and/or drafting new written policies and procedures in a clear and concise manner so that it can be easily understood by every employee.
  • Collaborate with the key individuals, departments, partners, and business owners of each policy and procedure to obtain all appropriate document approvals and ensure that all content is current, complete, and not contradictory to any departmental or Company guidelines or objectives.
  • Assist the Policy & Procedure Coordinator to identify all current policies and procedures impacted by changes to newly created or revised policies and procedures.
  • Apply substantial knowledge and experience to perform a wide range of advanced activities and/or determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Work to demanding timelines in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Coordinate small projects within a larger project scope, coordinate and shepherd special projects and perform other job-related duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree or Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience.
  • 2 years relevant experience in banking, finance, internal auditing, or project management preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial and lending laws and regulations preferred.
  • Skilled in technical and/or policy writing. Ability to provide writing sample upon request.
  • Demonstrated experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro as well as Microsoft & Office 365 programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Power BI
  • Ability to pass skills assessment test upon request.
  • Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including ability to interpret and explain data for a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to handle shifting priorities and work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as effectively within a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability necessary to successfully perform these responsibilities.
  • Must pass drug screen, criminal background check, and credit check.
