Resco Products, Inc is Hiring a Materials Manager Near East Canton, OH

The Role:

The Manufacturing Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of raw materials and finished products within our refractory manufacturing operations. This role ensures that materials are available as needed to meet production schedules, while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
  • Manage inventory levels to balance production needs with cost efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain inventory management systems to track materials from receipt to usage.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with production planning and scheduling teams to ensure material availability aligns with production requirements.
  • Address any material shortages or delays to minimize production downtime.
  • Work closely with quality control to ensure materials meet specifications and standards.
  • Oversee the transportation and storage of materials, ensuring they are handled safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers to optimize delivery schedules and costs.
  • Manage warehousing operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping of materials and products.
  • Monitor material costs and implement strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality.
  • Analyze procurement and inventory data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage the materials budget, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals.
  • Lead and develop a team of materials management professionals.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the department.

We require you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the refractory or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, inventory management, and logistics principles.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
