Position OverviewThis position has two primary roles:Under supervision of the Medication Access Champion Director, the Certified Peer Recovery Specialist will connect and engage with clients struggling with substance use disorders (SUD) to engage and continue treatment and supply information regarding state and county resources to assist clients with care transition.Under supervision by the Director of Emergency Services and clinical oversight by a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, the Certified Peer Recovery Specialist aids in the provision of engaging individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) and providing state and county resources to recovery support services through a community mobile unitQualifications for Position Education: HS Diploma and CPRS Certification preferredCertification: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) required within 12 months of employmentExperience: one year of direct services experience.Skills and Abilities: Active listening, social perceptiveness, critical thinking, persuasion, oral comprehension, oral expression, written comprehension, and expression, ability to navigate and use computer software programs.Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license.Work Schedule - Tuesday - Saturday 10a-6p (5 hours Open Access & 3 hours Mobile Unit)The Rescue Mission of Trenton is committed to ensuring that all current and prospective employees are afforded equal opportunities and treatment and a harassment-free work environment.
