Job Description:

We seek a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at a detention center. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to detainees, managing various medical conditions, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that all health needs are met promptly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with health assessments and screenings for detainees upon admission and as needed.

- Provide emergency and routine medical care, following established protocols and procedures.

- Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed.

- Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans.

- Document all medical interventions and patient interactions accurately in electronic health records.

- Educate detainees on health maintenance and disease prevention.

- Respond to health emergencies within the facility, providing immediate care and coordinating with emergency medical services when necessary.

- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in correctional healthcare.

Qualifications:

- Current LPN license in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain).

- Strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a diverse range of medical conditions.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

- Commitment to providing patient-centered care with respect for the dignity and rights of detainees.

- Ability to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

- CPR/BLS/ACLS certification required
