KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Contribute to building a positive culture that values safety, reliability and sustainability
· Track and drive unit regulatory compliance: PHA, Unit MOC’s, RECs, KMS incident review and closure, environmental compliance
· Drive optimization of costs and unit operations through Engineers and Specialists
· Drive consistency through visible leadership, develop, and coach the manufacturing engineers and production specialists; hold them accountable to their roles
· Coordinate Engineer and Specialist work loads to ensure high priority items are completed in a timely manner
· Conduct and participate in ESSH audits and complete corrective actions for RECs
· Drive targeted actions in response to performance gaps in KPI’s
· Serve as a back up to the Operations Manager for MOCs, Bypass Cards, and Deviations
· Elevate issues that exceed unit capability to Production or Process Engineering for additional support
· Support capital management process

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
· Education - BS or MS in Chemical Engineering
· Experience - 5 years of experience.
· Chemical plant and utilities manufacturing experience highly preferred.

DESIRED CERTIFICATION
· Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
·
REQUIRED SKILLS & Knowledge
· Strong knowledge of Systems - ASPEN products, heat transfer, hydraulics, etc.
· Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management is essential
· Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to innovate and solve complex problems
· Willingness to provide after-hours support
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
· Strong communication skills, both oral and written
· Ability to perform in a highly dynamic work environment
· Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives
Familiar with:
Nylon 6,6 Resins: These are used in automotive, electrical and electronics, industrial, and consumer applications.
Specialty Chemicals:
Adiponitrile (ADN): A key intermediate for the production of nylon 6,6.
Hexamethylene Diamine (HMD): Another critical intermediate in nylon 6,6 production.
Adipic Acid: Used in nylon production, as well as in the manufacture of polyurethanes, plasticizers, and lubricants.
High-Performance Fibers: Used in tire cord, airbags, ropes, and other industrial applications.
Specialty Plastics : These materials are used in applications requiring high durability and resistance to harsh environments.
Polyamide 66 Compounds: Customized formulations for various end-use applications, including automotive and consumer goods.
Amorphous Polyamide: For high-performance applications needing specific characteristics such as flexibility and clarity.
Specialty Polymers: Custom polymers for unique and demanding applications across multiple industries.
Chemical Intermediates:
Hydrogen Cyanide: Used in the production of various chemicals.
Cyclohexylamine: Used in water treatment and chemical synthesis.
Methylglutaronitrile (MGN): An intermediate in the synthesis of agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.
Additives and Modifiers: For enhancing the properties of plastics and other materials.
Plastic Films: For packaging and industrial applications.
