- Experience troubleshooting and repairing issues with bearings, belts, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors, rollers, pulleys, pumps, hydraulics systems, pneumatic systems and electronic controls.
- Basic skills in fabricating, torch cutting, and arc welding
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Computer skills enough to allow employee to input data, email reports and manage work orders in our CMMS system.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and schematics.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment.
- High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent educational experience level.
- A minimum of two (5) years’ mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment.
- Technical Degree or higher in a Mechanical Maintenance program
- Skilled trade certificate in Journeyman Mechanics or a Journeyman Trade Card
- A history of work in a world class safety culture where employee safety is the most important metric
- Be an example to all crew members in the area of safety
- Troubleshoot and repair any breakdowns on shift in a timely and effective manner
- Visually and Aurally inspect equipment as it is running for possible issues
- Assist and sometimes perform product changeovers on equipment and work hand in hand with the production team in maximizing production and efficiency
- Opportunistically inspect and lubricate/PM equipment when downtime during the shift allows.
- Assist in the technical training of operators in areas of mechanical function
- Close all completed work orders, complete daily reports
- Put away all tools, clean all work areas, dispose of waste and leave the workshop and machinery in a 5S acceptable condition
- Attend and participate in a variety of meetings including weekly safety meetings
- Other tasks as mandated by the Maintenance Manager or Shift Supervisor
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time in ambient and sometimes hot conditions
- Must be available for overtime, nights and weekend work
- Must be willing to work a rotating shift if needed
- Must be able to lift and reposition heavy parts as needed to perform repairs effectively
- Must be able to speak and understand English
