POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with education and experience to work in a fast-paced RF laboratory building, and testing antenna systems. This pivotal role will drive the production process, ensuring the efficient and effective manufacturing of antennas. Collaborating with cross-functional teams this individual will develop and implement manufacturing processes, improve product quality, and optimize production efficiencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for antenna products, including fabrication, assembly, and testing operations.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of antenna designs, providing feedback on design for manufacturing (DFM) considerations.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process control plans.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and equipment to support efficient production of antenna products.
  • Conduct process validations, capability studies, and other statistical analyses to ensure manufacturing processes meet quality and performance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, waste minimization, and productivity improvement in the manufacturing process.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities to address manufacturing issues and non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of materials and components needed for production.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to production teams, resolving technical problems and optimizing production workflows.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in antenna manufacturing to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering roles, preferably in the production of composite structures, antennas and antenna systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including composites, machining, fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for designing fixtures, tooling, and equipment; experience with 3D modeling is preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems for managing production schedules, inventory, and bill of materials (BOM).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a Secret Clearance. An active clearance is preferred.
