BAR MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION:

REPORTS TO: CASINO GENERAL MANAGER
FLSA: EXEMPT:
QUALIFICATIONS::
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Must qualify for gaming license
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Cannot be convicted of a felony
  • Ability to qualify for a ServSafe certification
  • Ability to qualify for Responsible Beverage Service (RBS)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with guests and other team members
  • Must have complete knowledge of legal requirements and liquor laws including gaming regulations as they apply to the food and beverage operations
  • Must have at least two (2) years’ experiences with POS systems; Infogenesis/Agilysys strongly preferred
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year bartending experience in an accredited bar
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years management experience
  • Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in Tribal Gaming preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills required
  • Strong organization and administration skills required
  • Computer experience essential, including all windows applications
  • Must be proficient with MS Office
  • Must be flexible and be able to work holidays, weekends, days, and nights
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to five (4) hours in length
  • Must be able to subject to wet floors and temperature extremes and be able to handle stress and personnel issues
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull and lift 50 pounds, must be able to reach above shoulders frequently and repetitively, must be able to maneuver up and down stairs frequently
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES::
  • Responsible for bartenders, cocktail servers, minibar attendants, barbacks, scheduling, inventory, and the procurement of supplies
  • Hire, motivate, evaluate, and direct departmental staff, ensuring team members receive the training, support, adequate guidance, and necessary resources to accomplish established objectives
  • Train new employees in the correct procedure for entering drink orders on the register, collecting money from patrons for drink orders, and making change
  • Monitor and control bar budgets and expenses
  • Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality
  • Ensure all bar operations comply with all tribal, local, state, and federal regulations
  • Ensure staff maintain certifications for Food Handlers and RBS
  • Enforce policies related to alcohol consumption and responsible serving
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute promotions, plan and manage events and promotions to attract and retain guests
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service and engagement
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback
  • Foster a welcoming atmosphere for all guests
  • Ability of mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of the bar and dining room following standard recipes
  • Possess knowledge of ingredients such as liquor, soda water, sugar, and bitters in preparing cocktails and other drinks, serving wine and bottled beer or drawing draft beer from kegs
  • Order liquors, other beverages, and supplies; arrange bottles and glasses to make an attractive display and merchandise drinks
  • Ensure the bar/lounge employees always maintain a clean work environment, ensures ashtrays are always clean, and solicit food orders from guests while at the bar
  • Responsible for monthly inventory of all assigned areas
  • Assist bartenders or other employees in obtaining CO2 tanks, change bag in the box soda, ice, kegs, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned
