We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator (Windows) with an active Top-Secret clearance as part of an ongoing contract in Washington, DC. This role is full-time, requiring five days of on-site work each week with no remote work options.

Please note: Due to the secure nature of this government agency, all candidates must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident and hold an active Top-secret clearance.

The successful candidate will receive a contingent offer based on the outcome of a government background check. This may take several weeks, and the candidate cannot begin actual employment until the background check is successfully completed.

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Windows servers and virtual environments. This role requires knowledge of Windows operating systems, virtualization technologies, and a strong focus on ensuring system availability and security.

Primary Duties:

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and virtual environments.
• Assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems.
• Discussing system and server upgrades with IT managers.
• Providing technical support for staff and back-end system users.
• Troubleshooting system and server errors.
• Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors.
• Monitoring and updating the Windows codebase.
• Managing user access.
• Monitoring system performance.
• Maintaining server architecture security and creating system backups.

Qualifications include:

• MUST hold an active Top- Secret Clearances
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems administration or related field.
• Security certification required
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows Server 2012R2, 2016, 2019).
• Proven work experience as a Windows Administrator.
• Detailed knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance.
• Experience with databases, patch management, and networks including LAN and WAN.
• Familiarity with modern operating systems and server platforms Windows and Linux environment.
• Knowledge of network security systems, intrusion detection systems, and data backup.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Preferred certifications/education:

• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.
