Restoration Eye Care is Hiring a Medical Receptionist Near Columbia, MO

Function:

This individual is responsible for greeting patients, gathering information pertinent to their visit and answering patient questions. This individual must enjoy the customer service portion of their position and have a desire to achieve corporate objectives as stated in the corporate mission statement. Will report directly to the Front Office Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone and properly direct phone calls.
  • Check in all patients and get payment information (i.e. insurance etc)
  • Must be detail oriented and able to input data accurately and timely.
  • Process charges.
  • Process payments and run the daily deposit report
  • Create a good impression as a friendly, empathetic, composed and efficient individual as this position has the first contact, phone or face-to-face, with the patient arriving at the center.
  • Individual must be able to communicate with patients in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
  • Must be skilled and proficient with general office equipment (i.e. postage meter, fax, copier, credit card processing machine and more)
  • Individual must be highly organized and proactively prepared to provide prompt service.

Personnel:

  • Individual must be able to function well in a team atmosphere and maintain good communication with coworkers and management.
  • Candidate must understand corporate mission and objectives and the importance of attitude, attendance, accuracy, appearance, aptitude and adaptability in achieving objectives.
  • Seek co-workers input regarding business/clinical operations, policies and procedures when necessary. Resolve conflict, concerns, and grievances if possible or discuss these with the Business Office Manager.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Monitor patient flow and report problems to the Business Office Manager.

Medical Records

  • Must ensure the confidentiality of medical records and patient account information by strictly adhering to HIPAA and Surgery Center policies.
  • Handle patient account inquiries professionally and refer to Supervisor if necessary.
  • Perpartion of patient chart and medical record
  • Scanning of records and insurance cards
  • Other duties as requested

Qualifications:

Individual must be very positive, enjoy working hard to achieve goals and have fun doing so. Candidate must be able and willing to achieve goals with tenacity, compassion and a sense of humor.

A high school diploma is required. Accounting/bookkeeping/computer skills preferred. One to three years’ experience in medical group practice or surgery center is recommended. Individual must demonstrate ability to successfully work with physicians and office personnel. Individual must be honest and trustworthy, must have a track record as a self-starter and be able to work independently with minimal supervision and achieve results desired.
