Restoration Parts Unlimited Inc. is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Lebanon, OH

THE COMPANY

Restoration Parts Unlimited (“RPUI”), is a strategic business in the Automotive Aftermarket (Classic Car Restoration, Performance and Modification) segment supplying parts and accessories to wholesale dealers and consumers.

The objective of RPUI is to provide a “best-in-industry operating model”, develop and manufacture automotive restoration products, coupled with outstanding service to our customers at a profitable growth and excellent return on investments.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED

The HR Generalist’s primary focus is the responsibility for HR-related duties in several key functional areas such as but not limited to employee relations, recruitment, full cycle payroll, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, safety, and employment law compliance. The Human Resource Generalist must possess a servant leadership demeanor and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and all RPUI team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of local personnel policies and procedures.
  • Manages ADP payroll processing, time & attendance system, and HRIS administration processing. Works with department managers to assure time & attendance is submitted timely with accurate data.
  • Oversees the local salary administration program and monitors the annual performance evaluation process. Participates in the development of department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Outlines employee development to include planning, coordination, design, and facilitation of training programs for employees of all levels.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts the local recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and hourly employees, writes job descriptions, and places local advertisements.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Handles employee counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning employment.
  • Works with the management team to support the administration of Worker’s Compensation and the coordination of workplace safety programs, safety procedures, polices, and practices.
  • Maintenance and posting of annual OSHA Log 300.
  • Consults with managers and supervisors on absenteeism, turnover and workforce data and takes actions where necessary.
  • Weekly payroll processing, maintenance of all employee payroll records.
  • Update and maintain employee 401k account records & the employee handbook.
  • Work with outside auditors to complete annual/ad hoc audits.
  • Collaborates with the site management team to ensure strategic alignment of human resources goals and objectives. Collaborates and reports on key HR metrics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of state and local payroll tax laws, 401k rules and regulations, competent in ERISA laws.

MINIMUM PRIOR KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field and 3 – 5 years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM-CP or S/PHR certification is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and benefits databases.
  • Extremely detail oriented, accurate and organized.
  • Knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations, filing and compliance requirements including COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation and DOL requirements.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between company locations (travel up to 10%).
  • Positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams with or without formal authority.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (2013 or newer).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • PHR® or SPHR® certification is highly desired.
  • Excellent knowledge of the ADP benefit & payroll system.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Root Cause Corrective Action Analysis for Problem Solving.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them to other team members when appropriate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Human Resource Generalist is subject to:

  • The position is subject to repetitive motions of the fingers, hands, wrists, and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, squat, and lift or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS

  • The Human Resource Generalist works in a lighted, temperature-controlled office and a light manufacturing environment.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED SUPERVISION RECEIVED

  • None given. Supervised by Chief Financial Officer.

COMPENSATION

  • Base salary consummates upon candidate experience.
  • Bonus eligible for any management discretionary annual performance bonus.
