Pre-School Teacher Job purpose
The Pre-School Teacher will, under the direction and supervision of the Director, plan, implement and help to evaluate classroom curriculum and create an environment that aligns with RLCDC’s purpose and philosophy.
Pre-School Teacher Essential functions
1. Implements policies in accordance with the purpose of RLCDC and the mission of the Church.
2. Maintains and models a professional culture in the school and classroom. This will include but is not limited to:
3. Keeps up-to-date developmental records of children in the class.
4. Keeps up-to-date attendance/illness/accident records of children in the class.
5. Plans, implements and posts a weekly written plan of daily class activities.
6. Sets up and maintains an appropriate classroom environment. This includes cleaning the classroom and attached bathrooms on a daily basis in compliance with RLCDC cleaning procedures.
7. Provides annual written assessments to Director/parents on children’s progress.
8. Provides written guidelines for substitutes.
9. Gives guidance and direction to teacher assistants and volunteers.
10. Be aware of and complies with all state regulations, personnel policies of RLC and RLCDC.
11. Attends monthly staff meetings and functions of RLCDC.
12. Maintains the required continuing education profile of 18 units per year in the appropriate subject areas.
13. Performs related duties as assigned.
