PRODUCT MANAGER

Essential Functions
  • Manages new products from ideation and concept, to design, sample production, testing, forecast, and support internal teams in product launches.
    • Partners with the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to communicate sample needs and sample process and gather associated cost data
    • Partner with the Supply Chain and Inventory team to determine current product end-of-life parameters
  • Responsible for project management relating to product-specific projects.
  • Manages the optimization of the Product Development Process to ensure all products are launched efficiently and effectively.
  • Creates and maintains Revant's 24 - 36-month product roadmap.
  • Creates detailed product briefs for every new product to translate business-to-technical product requirements as well as consumer insights.
  • Participates in new product packaging requirement meetings to provide technical information about the products to the internal team and confirm packaging meets product requirements.
  • Collaborates with and supports Marketing to conduct customer interviews, research, and user testing to ensure products align with the Revant brand and customer needs.
  • In collaboration with Finance, recommends pricing for new products to maximize margin
  • Build initial new product 12-month forecast and work with Marketing, Operations, and other key stakeholders to recommend a final 12-month launch forecast.
  • Adds potential brand & product collaboration opportunities to PRM for evaluation by Marketing.
  • Perform market assessments to identify trends, technologies in product, competitor identification, and opportunities to inform product innovations and roadmap.
  • Is the subject matter expert on Revant's products and how they compare to our competitors.
  • Deliver education/tutorials to customer support so they can clearly communicate the features and benefits of the product to the customer.
  • Supports the E-commerce team's merchandising initiatives by providing recommendations of products that complement each other based on target customer data.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders/teams to determine a sales channel distribution plan for new products (i.e. web or Amazon regions, US vs international).
  • Review marketing's product messaging to ensure it's accurate and communicates the unique selling points.
  • Assign and review the work of the Product Specialist.
  • Define, track, and report on new product success metrics monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Management of product information to ensure all product specifications are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Review existing product information in PIM collaboratively with E-Commerce team annually.
  • Other duties as required.
Revant offers a competitive compensation package including:
  • Base salary range, $95,000 - $110,000 (dependent upon experience)

Competencies
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Deep technical knowledge of the engineering, development, and manufacturing of lenses (plano and Rx), optical coatings, and associated accessories.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate your prioritization and roadmap creation process as it relates to the company goals and brand framework. You will need to be able to transparently communicate why you're prioritizing certain goals, products, features, or themes to all stakeholders to ensure everyone understands the strategy.

  • Strong computer and analytical skills in a Microsoft Windows and Google Docs environment; competency with Excel, database management, Asana and/or other project management software, and applicable PIM.
Education and Experience
  • Undergraduate in Business
  • 4 years of product management experience in a related field
  • 2 years of people management experience
  • Project Management Certification preferred

Work Environment - Hybrid (Tuesdays and Wednesdays in office)
While working remotely, you will need a quiet space that you can use to allow you to be present and focused during work hours. In addition to two days in the office per week, your position may require you to be physically in the office more often when projects or in person meetings are required.
When working at the office, we operate under Good Manufacturing Practices which may at times require wearing safety glasses and closed toe shoes. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Travel
An annual international trip to Southeast Asia is expected in addition to domestic travel to meet with suppliers and other product experts in the industry. Travel is not expected to exceed 15% of the Product Manager's time but is subject to change due to a change in the product roadmap.
