Our Coatesville, Pennsylvania client has a contract to hire opportunity for a Procurement Specialist who supports the procurement team in acquiring goods and services, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

This role involves data entry, vendor communications, and organizing procurement documentation.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist the Procurement department in procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Perform data entry tasks related to purchase orders, inventory records, and vendor information.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain product information, price quotes, and delivery schedules.
  • Organize and maintain procurement records, including items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality, and performance.
  • Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any delivery issues.
  • Support the preparation of purchase orders and bid requests.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts with suppliers and other representatives within the scope of authority.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess market trends.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely payment of invoices and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain a filing system for procurement documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES :

  • Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES :

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
