Revere Public School District is Hiring an Elementary Language Development Coach - Grades EC - 5 Near Revere, MA

Revere Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Language Development Coach for Early Childhood - Grade 5. This role is responsible for guiding the implementation of the English Learner Education and World Language programs and curriculum, and providing direct pedagogical instruction, professional development, and support to administrators and teachers.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Working with ESL, SEI, World Language, and content teachers to ensure quality of curriculum, materials, supports, and access for multilingual learners (MLL)
  • Working in classrooms: Co-teaching, modeling lessons, observing etc.
  • Working with teachers to plan and debrief lessons
  • Supporting BBST process, monitoring, and follow up for MLLs
  • Supporting ELSP and monitoring process and following up for FEL and opt-out students
  • Working with English Learner and World Language Director and all elementary schools to establish consistency in curriculum and program design and to support each school in their unique needs
  • Attending regular coach meetings with Director
  • Meeting with building administration regularly
  • Providing professional development at principal and director meetings
  • Providing support and resources requested by teachers
  • Collaborating with other literacy and math coaches and C2Cs to support multilingual learners in all content areas
  • Data Analysis (building and district level)
  • Supporting teachers with the implementation of a variety of assessments
  • Facilitating/attending PLG time with teachers
  • Supporting family engagement opportunities for multilingual families at the elementary level in partnership with family liaisons
Qualifications:
  • MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure in English as a Second Language Grades PreK-6 and SEI Endorsement.
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or other relevant field preferred.
  • Multilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic highly preferred.
  • Experience working in, or knowledge of World Language and Multilingual Programming preferred.
  • Excellent computer/technology skills with the ability to utilize various computer software and app programs.
  • Committed to the vision of high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, the achievement of academic and linguistic proficiency for all students, and the closing of the opportunity gap
  • A self-reflective, active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school community.
  • Strong foundation in student-centered pedagogy and culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Candidates must be flexible and collaborative and have well-established verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to share information and resources as appropriate, including strong written communication skills.
