Job Type: Part-Time; 8 – 10 hours a week.

Salary: $15.50 per hour

Schedule: Tuesdays (1-2 flexible/hybrid hours) and Wednesdays (10:00 am-7:30 pm on-site)

Position Overview:

The Meal Packaging and Delivery Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of Revive and Thrive Project’s food packaging and distribution. This role involves overseeing food packaging activities, managing volunteers, and providing administrative support to ensure the organization meets its mission of serving the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Packaging and Distribution:

• Prepare all menus, labels, and client communications for meal service.
• Oversee quality assurance practices for the creation, labeling, and packaging of special diet meals.
• Coordinate and oversee the food packaging process, ensuring quality control and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to efficiently package and distribute food to clients.
• Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, record keeping, and managing communication with volunteers related to food packaging and distribution.

Packaging & Delivery Volunteer Management:

• Train volunteers for various food packaging and distribution activities.
• Provide guidance and supervision to volunteers, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
• Manage volunteers to package, label, and organize all meals for delivery.
• Serve as the on-call assistance staff for delivery drivers, troubleshooting any delivery issues and redirecting undeliverable meals as needed.
• Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer environment by recognizing and appreciating their contributions.
• Address volunteer inquiries, concerns, and issues in a timely and empathetic manner.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in nonprofit organizations, food distribution, volunteer coordination, or related fields is an asset.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Hard worker with a high energy level who is organized, detailed oriented and able to multi-task.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Team player who is positive, flexible and able to complement the team of staff and volunteers currently in place.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Reliable transportation for delivery driver support.
• Lift up to 30 – 35 pounds and help carry, move furniture with ease as needed.
