- Plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for operation in accordance with cost, quantity, and quality specifications.
- Ensure progressive safety behaviors are executed, accidents and near misses of any severity level are thoroughly investigated, and countermeasures are implemented.
- Manage material and finished product inventories to meet quality, performance, and customer service requirements.
- Develop technical skills and business savvy across core leadership teams and foster a collaborative environment to prepare the next generation of leaders.
- Champion and drive a continuous improvement culture to maximize competitiveness and financial returns.
- Coordinate efforts of department employees to achieve quantity and quality objectives to meet daily production goals.
- Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
- Facilitate employee success through training, coaching, and evaluation.
- Provide performance data and feedback to management teams for assessing department performance.
- Audit work area to ensure proper housekeeping.
- College degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of three years of manufacturing experience specifically in the plastics industry.
- 3 years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment is required.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, relationship-building, and conflict-management skills. Results-driven.
- Work a flexible schedule (weekends and holidays) when required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in computer skills in relevant software systems, including Microsoft Office.
