Job Title: Testing Coordinator
Reports to: School Principal
Work Calendar: HS – 197 days
Classification: IIIC
Job Summary: To administer state tests to students, to extract information from district databases and testing site to develop various reports for testing and student tracking purposes; and to provide training to staff on accessing and inputting data to assess student progress on the educational reform act.
Essential Job Functions
  • Scheduling state testing sessions in computer labs; notify teachers of changes/additions and schedule appointments with individual students.
  • Creating a recording system (OAKS cards) for each student in reading, math, science, and social science.
  • Managing lab(s) and access daily testing session passwords for activating the OAKS computerized assessment system.
  • Tracking and documenting accommodations for IEP students during testing as required by ODE.
  • Troubleshooting computer issues and contacting technicians for repair or system problems.
  • Demonstrating a firm grasp of a wide range of subject matter to assist students
  • Instructing, supervising and managing groups of students (including ELL, special ed., alternative ed.) in test settings.
  • Providing teachers with information on the use of the OAKS system, and various other platforms. Providing ongoing resources for teachers.
  • Working cooperatively with department coordinators, teacher leaders, counselors, teachers, technology staff, and administration regarding OAKS testing functions, requirements, and test results.
  • Providing information to and fielding questions from parents and students regarding Records of Standards Achievement (RSAs).
  • Filing student reports and records in CUM/student folders. Maintaining accurate, complete and confidential records.
  • Forwarding and requesting testing information for transfer students to and from other districts. Provide this information to Testing & Evaluation.
  • Producing, analyzing and providing a variety of reports, e.g., student achievement, student needs, results for individual classes.
  • Ordering and preparing materials for paper and pencil testing.
  • Coordinating the return of materials per stringent ODE guidelines.
  • Coordinating large mailing projects for disseminating testing information to parents (test scores, RSAs).
Minimum QualificationsKnowledge of: Applicable state, federal, and local laws as well as school regulations and policies related to this position.
Skills to: Plan, organize, and implement appropriate use of assistive technology; consult, collaborate, and work with diverse groups and individuals; communicate effectively with staff, parents, students, and partners both orally in person and by phone and in writing; successfully perform on both Macintosh and Windows platforms, including the skills to complete basic troubleshooting and repairs on both platforms; skills to use standard office equipment including computer, telephone, printer and copier;
Abilities to: Stand/walk for prolonged periods; keep and maintain accurate records, understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and provide both oral and written instructions to other personnel.
Significant physical abilities include lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds in weight in a safe manner; lifting and moving tables, chairs, and equipment. Pushing/pulling balancing, stooping, reaching/handling/manual dexterity, talking/hearing conversations and other sounds, visual acuity/depth perception with or without visual accommodation.
Experience And TrainingStrong knowledge of multiple software platforms: Excel, Synergy, MS Word, OAKS on-line data systems.
Education Required: Associates Degree, preferably in a field related to services for people with disabilities and/or technology, or a related field; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: Oregon Fingerprint and Criminal Check clearance prior to beginning employment and enrollment must be maintained throughout employment.
Hours per day: 8.0
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 197-work days, prorated based on start date
