The Accounting Analyst performs accounting and financial analysis for US Traditional transactions, and supports preparation of management reporting of RGA's US Traditional business unit.
Responsibilities

• Performs month-end financial reporting functions, which may include any or all of the following:
  • preparation of journal entries; reconciling various ledger accounts
  • updating, reconciling and recording financial results
  • analysis, compiling and reporting of data based on a US GAAP and Statutory basis
  • reconciliation of various accounts
• Identifies, researches, and reports on differences between actual and expected financial results for assigned transactions.
• Assists with set-up activities/processes for new deals, including updating various accounting systems.
• Works and collaborates with other functional and corporate areas in RGA to achieve accurate, efficient, and effective accounting practices and procedures and responds to requests from other functional areas on various inquiries.
• Assists with report development and/or updates; addresses financial reporting related questions raised by business unit, area, or function.
• Shares technical expertise with others; recommends process improvements, provides functional advice and/or training as needed.
• Serves as liaison to other business units, areas and functions as needed.
• Maintains SOX documentation and provides as needed; may assist with year-end audit and other internal audits as needed.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:
•Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent related work experience
•5 years accounting or auditing experience with GAAP reporting and general ledger application experience

•Intermediate level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
•Intermediate interpersonal skills

The general pay range for this position is $63,400-$90,050 per year.Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles, and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan.RGA maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
