RGS Products is Hiring a Powder Coater Near Cochranton, PA
- Prepare workpieces by cleaning and pre-treating surfaces, such as chemical washing, or etching, to ensure proper adhesion of the powder coating.
- Select the appropriate powder coating material and color based on customer specifications and job requirements.
- Set up and operate powder coating equipment, such as spray guns, coating booths, and curing ovens, to apply the powder coating evenly and consistently.
- Ensure that the powder coating application meets quality standards and requirements, such as thickness, coverage, and uniformity.
- Troubleshoot and make adjustments to the powder coating equipment as needed to maintain consistent performance.
- Inspect finished workpieces for quality defects, such as runs, sags, or uneven coating, and make necessary touch-ups or rework when required.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and guidelines for handling and storing powder coating materials, as well as operating equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment and tools, to ensure efficiency and a safe working environment.
- Keep records of production activities, such as material usage, coating specifications, and job details.
- Willingness to perform tasks outside of job description when needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a powder coater or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of various powder coating techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to interpret and follow job specifications, including customer requirements and material data sheets.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify quality defects and make necessary adjustments.
- Basic understanding of color matching and blending.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong safety awareness and knowledge of handling hazardous materials.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet production deadlines.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Previous powder coating or painting experience preferred.
- Forklift operation experience is a plus.
- Possess strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of GEMA powder coating equipment is preferred.
