Position Summary

The P2P Senior ERP Systems Analyst IV works at an advanced level, maintaining, designing, and configuring complex applications and utility software in support of the university’s Oracle cloud ERP and administrative systems. The P2P Senior ERP Systems Analyst IV functions as a recognized expert in a combination of multiple technical and application areas, providing documentation and cross-training for other staff and leading new initiatives.

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a seasoned Procure-to-Pay (P2P) supply chain techno/ functional analyst with a proven track record in maintaining, designing, and configuring Oracle Fusion. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expert knowledge in software application design, development, testing, and deployment, specifically within Oracle Fusion Expense, Payables, and Procurement modules. They should possess high proficiency in application design and data modeling and a demonstrated ability to define and solve logical problems for highly technical applications.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The candidate should have the ability to lead development projects, select and adapt programming methods effectively, and exhibit expertise in ERP modules assigned, particularly within Oracle Fusion Expense, Payables, and Procurement.

Key responsibilities include conceptualizing designs, implementing solutions for complex systems/processes independently, and working closely with internal and external parties to gather business requirements. The candidate should excel in documenting system builds and application configurations, providing production system support, and resolving issues promptly.

The ideal candidate will serve as a project leader for moderate to highly complex projects, acting as a technical liaison for applications and evaluating and implementing new features and technologies. They will mentor lower-level analysts and team members, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development within the team.

Overall, the ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a collaborative approach to meet the dynamic needs of our organization's ERP systems and contribute to its continuous improvement and innovation.

This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. The salary range is $125,000 to $130,000, depending on qualifications and experience." *Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
    • In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year-for-year basis may be substituted
  • 4 or more years of experience in supporting Oracle Fusion applications, specifically in the areas of Expense, Payables, and Procurement modules

  • Skills
    • Expert knowledge in software application design, development, testing, and deployment, specifically Oracle Fusion Expense, Payables, and Procurement modules
    • Knowledge of Oracle Business Network
    • High proficiency in application design and data modeling
    • Demonstrated ability to define and solve logical problems for highly technical applications
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non‐technical clients
    • Ability to lead activities and development projects
    • Ability to select, adapt, and effectively use a variety of programming methods
    • Knowledge of the application domain
    • Excellent presentation and project management skills 
    • Application software expertise regarding the ERP modules assigned
    • Understanding of workflows and security implications to processes supported

Preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Five to ten years of Oracle Fusion Expense, Payables, and Procurement ERP Experience in the Technical/Functional support role
  • Experience with enterprise applications and understanding of database-driven applications
  • Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, and workflow
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • SQL scripting technical skills and strong analytical analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources
  • Listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to maintain good customer relations with customers, vendors, and partners

  • Accumulates information from a variety of users to develop intra-system trade-offs between different users, as necessary
  • Documents system builds and application configurations; maintains / updates documentation as needed
  • Provides technical analysis to design/develop, then convert and implement work
  • Provides production system support and issue resolution
  • Works as a project leader for projects of highly complex nature
  • Serves as a technical resource for applications
  • Compares, evaluates, and implements new features and technologies, integrating them into the computing environment
  • Mentors’ developer/programmers
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Additional Functions

  • Identifies and maps business requirements to the Cloud functionality
  • Conducts Functional Design Workshops
  • Identifies functionality gaps and builds extensions for them
  • Advises customers on options, risks, and any impacts on other processes or systems
  • Writes business requirement documents for reports, interfaces, data conversions, and application extensions
  • Develops security and validation strategies and plans
  • Assists customers in preparing validation scripts, testing scenarios, and developing and executing test scripts
  • Validate configuration and data
  • Leads migration of configuration, integrations, and extensions to the production environment
  • Stays up to date on any changes or upgrades to existing technology around his/her responsibilities; develops and delivers training on new systems and processes
  • Documents inconsistencies/ issues/ concerns for follow-up and /or resolution by the software vendor(s) as needed
