The Position:
The Quality Manager will fill a vital role in supporting the transformation of the organization from a responsive, reliable, and customer-focused manufacturer, to one that can scale with growth. To facilitate the growth and transformation due to the planned and amicable retirement of several of our long tenured Quality department resources, he or she will have the opportunity to bring new talent to the team while absorbing the ingrained knowledge of the current team.
The Quality Manager is responsible for developing and empowering the Quality team, and maintaining an innovative, inclusive, and collaborative culture. He or she will develop and collaboratively deploy a Quality strategy across all aspects of the business, providing competitive advantage to the business through efficiencies and optimization while unlocking the creativity and passion of our operations team.

This position reports to the VP of Manufacturing and serves in a vital role supporting efforts of the Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Quality engineers and technicians including all performance development, goal setting, and talent management
- Establish methods and procedures for risk management, documentation control, statistical analysis and continuous improvement
- Design, develop and implement quality control training programs
- Ensure the Quality Management System conforms to all customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements
- Analyze and report out at monthly operations review on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement
- Lead and direct root cause / corrective action studies, customer 8Ds, customer returns, and other problem-solving activities
- Prepare product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget as needed, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
- Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure adherence to the quality system to achieve integrity of the finished product. The position requires a plant floor presence
- Work with Richards leadership to install technology and tools to support business objectives
- Work with HR leadership to define training plans and development schedule for business unit leadership, targeted employees, and employees at-large
- Participate in the New Product Development Process and manufacturing readiness

Qualifications Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor's degree is required (Preferred in Business, Manufacturing, or Engineering)
- 8 years of experience in Quality Management and/or Operations roles
- 3 years of experience in a leadership role, with people leadership responsibility
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, document improvement results, and effectively communicate those results
- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex project to successful completion
- Experience in a high-mix manufacturing environment, with a variety of customer specifications
