Description

The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a energetic and dependable full-time Porter to support our kitchen at the North Campus . This individual will perform intermediate semiskilled work cleaning, sanitizing, and food preparation for the kitchen at the RBHA North Campus, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the assigned Kitchen supervisor.
Essential Functions
Keep all kitchen work surfaces (counters, sinks, stoves, walls) clean and sanitized.
Sweep and mop floors at the beginning and ending of shifts.
Clean up spills to avoid hindering operations.
Wash cookware, utensils, and cutlery fast to keep them in rotation.
Arrange equipment and ingredient deliveries.
Keep the food and supply storage areas organized and clean.
Help with routine food preparation tasks.
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of materials and methods of cleaning and sanitation used for preparing meats, breads and other foods on a large scale and of the use and care of utensils and equipment; general knowledge of food values and nutrition; skill in cutting and carving meat; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED and minimal experience in cleaning, sanitization and food preparation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
