Ride and Care Transportation is a leading provider of Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services, dedicated to improving access to healthcare for patients in need. As a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Operator, you will be responsible for providing safe, comfortable, and timely transportation for patients with mobility limitations, chronic illnesses, or disabilities. You will operate a wheelchair accessible van during your day to day operation.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate a wheelchair accessible vehicle to transport patients to and from medical appointments
• Assist patients in boarding and disembarking the vehicle, including securing them in their wheelchair.
• Provide courteous and professional service to patients and their families, including assistance with luggage and other needs
• Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, including daily checks for safety and cleanliness
• Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations, including reporting any accidents or incidents to the appropriate supervisor
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, medical professionals, and other team members as needed
• Maintain accurate records of transportation services provided, including mileage, times, and patient information via smartphone application.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of driving experience, preferably in a customer service or healthcare-related field
• Ability to operate a wheelchair accessible vehicle and assist patients with mobility limitations, including lifting and securing wheelchairs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and courteous demeanor
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with GPS and and smartphones.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
• MAVO and CPR Certifications required.
