- Assist in keeping overall bank financial objectives by preparing and keeping an accurate well managed budget.
- Ensure quarterly budget variances are researched and addressed appropriately.
- Ensure goals are met by defining and communicating those to departmental management.
- Maintain high level of productivity among department subordinates through careful supervision including training, evaluating, disciplining and making recommendations on hiring and salary increases.
- Motivating staff by reviewing and approving evaluations and by giving and receiving feedback hiring the year.
- Counsel departmental management by providing management theory and instruction in delegation techniques.
- Ensure an appropriately trained staff by providing access to training seminars.
- Communicating objectives to management staff by setting performance standards.
- Ensure fulfillment of bank needs and concerns by attending outside organization meetings, monthly officers’ meetings, quarterly operations meetings, serving as check processing liaison and by review of vendor contracts as they pertain to this area.
- Ensure fulfillment of banking needs and concerns through interaction with Item Processor and Core Processor personnel and by attendance at key meetings.
- Maintain accurate accounting of the general ledger by reviewing departmental monthly accounting reports.
- Ensure the growth and prosperity of the bank by being proactive, setting goals and making suggestions for improvement and communicating those to upper management.
- Participate in the day-to-day functions of the department including monitoring accounts, creating/reviewing reports, and conducting investigations to prevent loss and regulatory violations.
- Communicate with our vendors, Social Security Administration. Federal Reserve Bank and The Treasury Department regarding Federal Automated Payments, Check Transactions, and other account management needs.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, Compliance, Audit and other stakeholders to improve tools and products, and to provide exceptional support and service.
- Ensure process compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policies, applying sound judgement regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with honesty and transparency.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Related
- Minimum 4 to 6 years bank Operations and Fraud experience.
- Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with departments across the Bank, vendors and business partners.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, investigate and resolve problems concerning customer accounts/transactions.
- A high degree of flexibility, be extremely organized, detail-oriented and ability to multi-task, prioritize a variety of tasks and meet deadlines.
- Prefer knowledge of Federal Reserve regulations and laws of check processing procedures, NACHA Rules and Regulations of Electronic Banking, Uniform Commercial Code Regulations, The Treasury Department Rules on Federal Payments, The Gold Book Banking Operations Rules
