Our client is a commodity trading company whose main focus is the merchanting of rare earth materials.They have solidified themselves as a trusted partner amongst a wide variety of consumers. They are looking to take on a Trade Accountant who will be responsible for managing and reporting on profit and loss (PnL) statements, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting trading operations through detailed financial analysis and accounting expertise. This is an onsite position based in Stamford, CT.

Trade Accountant’s Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare, analyze, and report daily, weekly, and monthly PnL statements for trading activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
• Conduct reconciliations of trading accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls related to trading activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide detailed financial analysis to support trading strategies and decisions.

Trade Accountant’s Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.

• Senior accounting experience, ideally in commodities trading or hedge funds.
• Proficiency in PnL management and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
