This position reports to the Vice President of Estimating.
Responsibilities
- Calculate statistical data: Quantity take-offs, material prices, labor costs, and equipment.
- Research historical data for estimating guidelines.
- Contribute to project update and bid package documents.
- Maintain working document files.
- Monitor conceptual estimates with actual cost data.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.
- 8 years of additional relevant experience can substitute for the degree.
- 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
- Mandatory knowledge of construction materials and the ability to recognize material designations (e.g., W section and HP section).
- General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing is essential.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and effective teamwork capabilities.
- Proficiency in performing mathematical extensions and interpreting engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
- Proficiency in using Bluebeam and MS Excel.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Consistent, dependable, diligent, and thorough work ethic.
- Adept at problem-solving and finding solutions.
- Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
