Ripple Effect Consulting is Hiring a Survey Crew Chief (Miami) Near Miami, FL

SURVEY CREW CHIEFLocation: Miami, FL
Compensation: $25 - $35/hr (DOE)
Experience: 4 years of Crew Chief experience
OVERVIEWThe Survey Crew Chief will set-up and operate cutting edge equipment and instruments used at job sites to measure, record and calculate data for all types of survey projects including but not limited to: DOT topographic design and Right of Way mapping, Aeronautical Surveys, ALTA's, photo control and Lidar support. In addition, the Survey Technician will maintain close communications with the Phase Manager and Crew Coordinator, supply accurate field data, maintain field notes and files, and assist in the review of final drawings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate and maintain advanced survey hardware and software, including Trimble total stations and receivers, terrestrial scanners, and the latest survey, design, and mapping software.
  • Adhere to mandated safety standards and procedures.
  • Record detailed written field notes and daily logs.
  • Investigate historical survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to gather necessary survey data.
  • Perform computations using a calculator or provided data collectors.
  • Record survey outcomes and verify data accuracy through appropriate field checks.
  • Transmit survey data results, including sending data from remote field locations to the home office.
  • Display professionalism when representing the company at job sites.
  • Complete field survey assignments accurately and efficiently.
  • Employ proper field methods and maintain everyday equipment properly.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Preferably, 4 years of experience with conventional, robotic, or related surveying equipment, though personal initiative and experience will also be considered.
  • Previous experience with Trimble GPS and Survey Controller.
  • Must achieve satisfactory results on a Motor Vehicle Record check and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel 75% or more to remote field locations, including overnight stays, as necessary, with travel locations potentially outside the U.S.
  • Per-diem provided tax-free based on local GSA rates.
  • Holding a current United States Passport is highly preferred.
  • Collaboratively perform tasks and solve problems with others.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including some weekends.
  • Capability to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering excellent customer service.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; provide constructive feedback and direction to support goals.
