About the role:Come build the first multi-sided Global Benefits Marketplace. Every year, employers and employees spend over $5 trillion on benefits globally. From health insurance to saving for retirement, these benefits products guide families through some of the most important and impactful decisions in life. Despite the significance of these products and the dollars spent, the experience is still painfully antiquated, expensive, and confusing. Rippling is building the first modern multi-sided marketplace that seamlessly connects brokers, employers, and employees with any benefit. Our platform powers discovery, purchase, and use of benefits products around the world. Our benefits vertical includes our Benefits Platform (recommendations, payments, and our benefits eligibility engine), our rapidly growing Benefits Marketplace of over 100 partners, and our natively-built Rippling Benefits Products. You will:
Engineer and maintain innovative, customer-centric, high-performance, secure and robust solutions
Confidently ship large features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects
Solve technical problems of the highest scope and complexity of your team
Translate high-level business requirements into a software design; communicate the designs to the other developers in the team.
Review and share feedback on code, features, technology, architecture, and designs. Drive the standards around code quality and testing across your product.
Drive the technical roadmap and architecture for the team.
Provide mentorship junior engineers on your team to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers to their autonomy
Act as the technical lead for your pod/team and drive large initiatives.
Have exposure to business and technical leadership to strategize what can improve our revenue and our ability to scale rapidly
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Minimum 8 years of programming experience
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of the duties
Ideally experience in scaling products from 1->100
Preferred experience in our technology stack- Python, Django, React, MongoDB, AWS and GoLang
Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment by identifying areas of impact and independently pursuing them
Infectious passion for solving real customer pain points
Experience in building scalable distributed systems
Experience in building critical platform pieces that help the product scale quickly.
Bonus: Experience in marketplace platforms.
The pay range for this role is:162,000 - 283,500 USD per year(US Tier 1) 162,000 - 283,500 USD per year(US San Francisco Bay Area)
