• has ability to read and understand part specific blue prints and dimensions, can use micrometers, calipers and all basic gages. Recognizes quality principles as applied to products (features, fitness-for-use, freedom from defects, etc.)
• Can perform first piece inspection of parts with optical inspection equipment, or equivalent measurement equipment. Performs all measurements without assistance.
• Can determine gauging needs from print requirements with minor assistance.
• Thorough knowledge of blue prints and ability to apply concepts.
• Knows proper operation of machine (i.e. start/stop; jogging), visual check of parts for quality, identification of stations and functions of each (die progressions), basic machine check (tooling, etc.), performs minor basic machine preventive maintenance.
• Has the ability to change punches and dies, can perform cutter and/or knife adjustments and stop adjustments, can properly adjust wedges and knock out hammers, prepare tooling. can reset/accurately operate Impax, can adjust punches for proper alignment
• Can identify broken/worn tools upon inspection of progressions, Perform comprehensive machine preventive maintenance routines.
• Can make/identify die stacks, repair and/or replace feed rolls. Has ability to     troubleshoot machines, repair and replace punch blocks, properly identify signs for machine maintenance, complete major set-ups, time knock out/positive knock out (TKO/PKO). Will perform minor developmental set-ups on existing jobs.
• Reads and understands tool layouts and part progressions. Will perform developmental set-ups and prototyping on new jobs.
• Will perform developmental set-ups and prototyping on new parts that other Grades are not able to achieve. Can identify and assist in designing new tools for existing jobs. May also assist or suggest areas for machine or process development.
• Knows raw material locations, can properly load wire onto machines, operate forklift move parts/wire, properly read and complete wire tags, travel tags.
• Can perform full set-ups, can operate multiple machines without assistance. Â Follows manufacturing schedule as assigned.
• Performs tasks given by leader, supervisor or management. Reports verbally to supervisor with status of projects. Complies with company policies and procedures with regard to safety, housekeeping, attendance, work rules, etc. Performs tasks with minimal Supervision
• Accurately captures data on production reports, and lists production problems/solutions Performs tasks without Supervision.
