The Director Quality Assurance is responsible in providing leadership in quality assurance and customer relations support throughout the company. This includes the development of an internal auditing network to probe quality assurance and customer relations, allowing the agency to be proactive in enhancing the services being delivered. This leader needs to be self-motivated, focused on excellence, and a team player.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Incident Reporting: Monitor and maintain a statewide system for incident reporting. Ensure compliance, gather information to determine trends, and monitor health and safety
  • Surveillance: Conduct surveillance of workforce activities using statistical sampling, audit, and observation techniques to evaluate compliance with policies, procedures, and contract requirements
  • Employee Compliance: Monitor employee renewal reports to ensure action is taken and those out of compliance are removed from active rosters
  • Customer Satisfaction: Implement and maintain a statewide system for assessing customer satisfaction. Monitor and maintain monthly program satisfaction
  • Training: Attend, train, develop and report quality assurance data at management and staff meetings as needed
  • Policy & Procedure: Design and revise policies and procedures as needed. Maintain a monitoring system to ensure policies and procedures are kept current.
  • Project Assistance: Assist with projects to ensure quality supports in each program, including on-site training, daily mentoring, and the use of specific tools to reach individuals’ goals and needs in a positive environment
  • Licensing: Monitor program licenses and their renewals with support from the contract specialist
  • Documentation: Ensure all agency forms meet regulatory and licensing requirements. Update forms as needed based on changes to contractual, licensing, and/or regulatory requirements
  • Audit Management: Act as the point of contact for all desk audits initiated by contractors. Lead the RISE team during audits and corrective action plans as needed
  • Monitoring Systems: Design and oversee the monitoring of various contractor requirements within DCI, Therap, Paycom and CAS Focus. Oversee audits of member and employee records on an ongoing basis, tracking deficiencies and monitoring completion of any noted deficiencies
Communication:
  • Oral Communication: Communicate effectively in individual or group situations, demonstrating listening skills; Communicate with multiple customers including the people receiving support, staff, state personnel, co-workers, supervisors, and others as necessary; Be an effective advocate for people receiving support
  • Written Communication: Communicate effectively in writing using accurate grammatical form and able to read and interpret written information; Write necessary materials and communications relevant to the position and interpret policies, procedures, and other required written material
  • Leadership and Team Building: Coach, train, and mentor employees, providing positive leadership and team building based on respect, cooperation, and competency, embracing the RISE mission, vision, and values
  • Problem-Solving: Take personal responsibility for actions, demonstrating excellence in work standards, tenacity in completing tasks, and effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities, including resolving crisis situations and developing resolutions between parties
  • Teamwork: Work well with other team members, demonstrating the ability to cooperate with others in the group, using friendly, cooperative relations in accomplishing mutual goals, and preparing assignments on time
  • Delegation and Follow-Up: Ability to delegate and follow up on projects
  • Compliance: Comply with all RISE and applicable state policies, procedures, and contractual obligations. Follow all applicable personnel policies and legal requirement
  • Flexibility and Sensitivity: Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity to differences while working with various state and agency licensing regulations and priorities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with five years of behavioral health experience and/or DDD/AHCCCS experience related to quality assurance and customer relations required; a Master’s Degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience supervising and managing people
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of state regulations, licensing requirements, and contractual agreements, with methods to establish compliance
  • Knowledge and experience with current practices and methodologies regarding the enhancement of people’s lives and the implementation of these methodologies
  • Ability to navigate and utilize appropriate computer software systems to complete the duties requested
  • Knowledge of National Accreditation regulations
  • Must be a minimum of twenty-one years of age, valid Arizona driver's license and meet requirements as specified by RISE Insurance Agency
  • Must be able to complete a successful background check and obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
