Job Summary:
Responsible for developing and executing recruiting plans, sourcing, and evaluating candidates, and keep the applicant tracking system accurate. This is a full cycle recruiting position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute recruiting plans, practices, and standards to attract and hire qualified candidates for vessel positions.
• Lead the full recruiting lifecycle to include sourcing, scheduling, screening, interviewing, assessing, and onboarding of candidates for vessel positions.
• Source and evaluate candidates, using applicant tracking system.
• Maintain a pipeline of candidates for vessel positions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with maritime academies to recruit potential candidates.
• Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and other methods to attract candidates.
• Track and report on metrics and recruiting activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitor recruitment trends and develop strategies to stay competitive in the market.
• Provide consistent results by reporting recruiting metrics.
• Schedule physicals for candidates.
• Create and approve purchase orders for physicals.
• Communicate with clinics and potential new hires concerning physical results.
• Ensure and input all applications and new hires into appropriate systems.
• Ensure all new hire personnel files are completed and filed.
• Manage tankerman and mate trainee programs.
• Monitor and serve as liaison for trainees in both tankerman and mate programs.
• Ensure trainees are released based on agree program working with General Managers and Port Captains.
Qualifications Knowledge & Skill:
• 5-7 years of experience in maritime recruiting is preferred.
• 5- 7 years of experience in a full-cycle recruiting environment.
• Skilled in interviewing, assessing, and identifying candidates who fit the available roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Human Resources, Psychology, or equivalent experience
• Ability to travel as required to participate in career events as required.
• Prefer 3 – 5 years’ experience with recruiting metrics.
• Strong written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
• Organized, detail-oriented and accurate.
Working Conditions:
Office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Must be able to handle continuous telephone contact with applicants and new hires. Travel of estimated 20% required.
