River City Roofing is Hiring an Accounting Technician Near Peoria, IL
Accounting Technician
Detail oriented individual who will reconcile and report on all financial data. This person will be responsible for all financial reporting and compliance. Will serve as subject matter expert on state and federal financial requirements to include: payroll, income tax, accounts receivable, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Will ensure all local and federal reporting deadlines are compliant and all receivable and payable accounts are up to date. Will be responsible for remaining educated on the latest financial laws and reporting information frequently to the executive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain all financial records in an accurate and concise manner.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare basic financial statements.
- Analyze financial records and provide recommendations on strategy and processes to leadership team.
- Calculate and process weekly payroll to include bonuses.
- Remain in compliance with all applicable state and financial filings and payroll procedures. Will be responsible for administrating payroll in multiple states.
- Provide digital financial reports to leadership team and oral presentations of current and future financial matters.
- Process all billings and disburse funds to vendors before due date.
- Create and perform audits and audit process schedule.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Work occasional overtime as needed.
Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Required
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Coursework or formal degree in financial discipline preferred.
- CPA preferred
Preferred Experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in accounting and finance.
- Previous experience working in roofing or other related construction industry.
- Previous experience in administering management electronic financial system.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Ability to work in an office environment with occasional hybrid work schedule available
- Strong written and verbal ability
- Critical and analytic skills
- Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
