We are currently seeking a CDL Truck Driver/Operator who is responsible for the daily transportation and delivery of construction equipment and roofing material to jobs within central Illinois. This position is mostly local but it does require some occasional travel which includes overnight stays out of town.

Position Main Responsibilities:

• Deliver and Install loads operating trucks over urban or rural areas.

• Load and unload cargo.

• Record amount and type of product.

• Conduct Pre-trip and Post-trip inspections.

• Exercise good customer service when required to interact with customers.

• Report mechanical issues with the truck or the blower system to the appropriate shop personnel.

• Keep truck and all associated equipment clean and in good working order.

• Manage logs and records as per DOT regulations.

• Maintain log of hours worked.

• Inspect freight and vehicle for compliance with regulations.

• Report accidents and violations.
• Other duties as needed

Requirements:

• Class A CDL Driver’s License.

• Clear Motor vehicle record (MVR).

• Verifiable previous 3-year driving employment History.

• Ability to work with time restraints and deadlines.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Basic mechanical knowledge to handle minor repairs.

• The ability to balance multiple tasks, along with strong communication skills is essential.

• Detailed-oriented with a focus on results.

• Must be able to speak, write and communicate effectively

• The person in this position must have demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency in using common word processing software, spreadsheet software, database applications, and company email.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

• The overall nature of this position requires being outdoors the vast majority of the time, working in the heat or cold, with some physical exertion with physical effort frequently required.

• Driver must be able to sit for extended periods of time in a truck/vehicle.

• The frequent physical demands of the position are being able to lift 25 lbs. Standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and eye/hand/foot coordination.

• The occasional physical demands of the position are talking, hearing, and repetitive hand motions.
