What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agronomy Sales Specialist position at River Country Cooperative?
General Summary: This position will focus on an assigned geography to provide agronomic and technical support to growers and staff within the organization by promoting and selling seed, fertilizer, chemical and other company services.
Essential Functions:
- Create and recommend agronomic solutions for customers through the offerings of River Country Cooperative.
- Improve the efficiency and profitability of customers.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with customers and staff to build strong relationships.
- Create and recommend programs to targeted accounts.
- Prospect in the assigned area to grow business.
- Work closely with customers to understand their unique needs.
- Capture and maintain customer and grower data in the selling database.
- Work across the organization and assist in projects, data collection, processing, and training.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:Educations/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or sufficient on-the-job experience. Understand agricultural processes to accurately sell agronomy products. Proficient in computer usage including Ag Software. A valid Driver’s License is required.

Environment: Regular work schedules. However, overtime may be required if necessary to complete projects or specialized training. This position works primarily outdoors and can be subject to extreme heat or cold. Local travel is required.
Physical: This position is defined as Medium. Work involves exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally using any combination of body, hands, fingers, arms, legs, and feet to complete tasks. Walking, standing, climbing, and sitting to a significant degree.
