What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Coordinator - PT position at River Pointe Community Church?
POSITION SUMMARY
River Pointe & West End Church is currently looking for engaging, energetic, caring individuals to add to our Childcare Team at our RICHMOND campus location. The Childcare Coordinator provides support for weekend programming through staffing, updates, communication, care, and social connection with volunteers. Gives updates to Early Childhood Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Become proficient in Planning Center, Share Point, Excel, and ROCK.
- Weekly use of Planning Center to staff for weekend services.
- Ensure check-in is set up and ready with the Membership Department (ROCK)
- Assist in Backpack Camp Coordination
- Help Early Childhood Director staff large attendance weekends (not required to be on site)
- Coordinator will be required to communicate with volunteers via text and phone calls.
- Updates Planning Center for Weekly Childcare
- Begin to contact Childcare staff to fill in holes on Thursday.
- Coordinator will be required to check-in on volunteers who have seemed to “check out.” In other words, those that have been declining weekend after weekend, you will be required to reach out to them and ask them how things are going and what we can do for them. (Prayer team, conflicts, counseling, etc.)
- Help recruit new volunteers. Keep an eye out for people that could serve the ministry and invite them to serve alongside us!
- Set Up: Coordinator is responsible for setting up classrooms for childcare events (laying out play doh, coloring sheets, etc. and making sure the snack cart is stocked)
- Huddle Up: A half hour with the childcare staff before each event
- Immediate Needs: During childcare events, the coordinator must address all staff needs (i.e., forgetting to clock in/out, paycheck, etc. and must be communicated to the Early Childhood Director or the Early Childhood Administrator)
- Host quarterly social events: Use the Grill, home, restaurant, etc.
- Ask weekly- “How can I pray for you? How was your weekend?”
- Contact care ministry when needed. Ex: Meal Teams, Prayer Teams, Hospital Teams, MOC
- Report large issues to Early Childhood Director
- Ensure incident reports are filled out in the case of injury (i.e. a bumped head)
EDUCATION, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- 1 years of experience in childcare / classroom experience, education or similar fields
- Ability to work some weekends and holidays

Two years’ experience with technology is required including Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook. The ability to quickly learn new software is required.
