Description

River Region Psychiatry Associates manages inpatient psychiatry units and provides consult services to hospitals, operates outpatient clinics throughout North America, including a mental health urgent care. As part of our mental health ecosystem, we employ psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, family nurse practitioners, physician assistants, licensed clinical social workers, and licensed professional counselors. We also partner with community mental health organizations, rural health organizations, correctional facilities, rehab facilities, and nursing homes. We are seeking a Credentialing Specialist to make sure that medical institutions and doctors adhere to federal and state regulations and that they have the appropriate licenses. Keep track of the medical staffs training and certifications. Ensure that doctors and medical facilities conform to applicable laws. Maintain records of employee credentials and insurance contracts. Serves as a point of contact between the hospitals management and providers. Keep track of the expiration of certifications and licenses as well as the data for all the facilitys providers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Investigate candidates prior education, experience, and training to see if they qualify for a certain certificate.
  • Examine resumes, transcripts, and letters of recommendation to ascertain a candidates suitability for a position.
  • Process applications for initial and renewed credentials. Operate as the main point of contact for any inquiries regarding credentials and re-credentialing
  • Investigate candidates prior education, experience, and training to see if they qualify for a certain certificate. Follow up with candidates who have not complied with requests for information to make sure they are moving toward receiving certification.
  • Provide direction on the credentialing procedure and respond to inquiries from applicants regarding their applications. Work with potential employers to ascertain whether applicants satisfy the criteria for employment in the industry.
  • Generate information from the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), the applicant and their malpractice insurer, and other relevant sources. Present applications to the Credentialing Committee of the facility.
  • Assist clients with inquiries about credentials, answer questions from health plan providers, archive primary source data in digital databases. Ensure the backup of data, ensure adherence to all relevant laws, rules, guidelines, and policies

Qualifications


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GED, high school diploma, or any suitable equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of credentialing experience.
  • Knowledge of medical credentialing procedures.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. River Region Psychiatry Associates will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

PREFERRED QUALICATIONS:

  • Certified Professional Medical Services Manager (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS).
  • CAQH, payor applications, and state collaboratives.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently.
