The teacher is to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. The teacher prepares students for meaningful lives by contributing to their educational and social development.
Teacher Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Integrate Biblical principles and perspectives throughout all curriculums from a Biblical worldview
- Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and in agreement with school policy
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
- Use acceptable English in written and oral communication; speak with clear articulation
- Demonstrate proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to students’ various learning needs
- Demonstrate excellent organization and time management skills
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and assessments that are in accordance with established procedures
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
- Observe and evaluate student's performance and development
- Assign and grade classwork, homework, and assessments
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student's progress and development
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
- Work with administration to keep parents informed of students’ discipline
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school
- Maintain clear, open, and professional communication with parents
- Provide appropriate feedback to students and parents on student progress
- Ability to employ computer programs to post grades and communicate with parents
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings
- Be a born-again Christian who is called of God to the teaching ministry
- College graduate, preferably with two or more years of classroom teaching experience
- Knowledge of computer technology
- Willingness to pursue higher education and continue progress in career development
