Rivers Casino is Hiring a Table Games Shift Manager Near Portsmouth, VA

Job Summary:
Responsible for the management and supervision of the activities of the Table Games department to ensure compliance with state regulations and internal controls, while maintaining a strongculture of guest service and satisfaction.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Yes, will directly supervise Assistant Shift Managers and Floor Supervisors on assigned shift.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Table Games with all aspect of the Table Games Department to ensure a smooth running and efficient operation including and not limited to:
  • Responsible for live table games operations of the casino
  • Responsible for all table game functions including the inventory of table game equipment,dice, and cards.
  • Safeguarding company assets located within the casino department.
  • Establishing and enforcing rules and regulations of the casino that comply with VirginiaLottery Board regulations.
  • Planning and directing staffing, training, and development of table games personnel. •Forecasting and financial analysis of the department.
  • Design and institute departmental policies and procedures.
  • Hire and plan development of departmental staff.
  • Communicate and ensure consistent enforcement of company's philosophies and human resource policies.
  • Effectively handles customer disputes while maintaining the security and integrity of thegames and customer satisfaction.
  • Discretionary ability to extend complementary services in accordance with the approvedcomp matrix.
  • Engages guests during their play and develops relationships to create customer loyalty andrepeat visits.
  • Manages guest disputes, issues or concerns related to the department while maintaining aprofessional demeanor, balancing the need to protect assets and ensures regulatorycompliance with guest satisfaction.
  • Coordinates meetings, files, types, and enters data into computer.
  • Composes and prepares confidential correspondence, reports, and other complexdocuments.
  • Manages staffing levels according to volume of business.
  • Enforces all games procedures and policies.
  • Prepares necessary shift and other reports.
  • Makes recommendations for policy or operational changes to ensure efficiency andcompliance with regulations.
  • Operates in accordance with operating budget.
  • Involved in all operations of the Rivers Casino Dealer Academy.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Five or more years of experience in table games supervision and management.
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
  • Able to obtain and retain gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of table games math, procedures, game protection, regulations, and trainingrequirements.
  • Knowledge of table games, i.e.: blackjack, craps, roulette, and specialty games. •Must have strong leadership skills with a clear focus on guest service and Team Memberrelations as a priority.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. •Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staffor customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved writtenor oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. •Must possess excellent customer relations and communication skills.
  • Available to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to stand for extended periods of time.
  • See, walk, talk, and hear as well as using hands to handle, feel and reach gamingequipment (cards, chips, dice, shuffle devices, etc.)
  • Must be able to identify colors.
  • Be able to turn your upper body at least 60 degrees.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment.
  • Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke, and dust
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week, including holidays.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with assistance.
  • Ability to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
