Position OverviewRiverside Research is seeking a full-time Senior Targeting Subject Matter Expert to conduct research on policy, process, and technologies needed to enhance the Space Targeting Enterprise. The Senior Targeting Subject Matter Expert will be a key member of a team providing advice and assistance on this topic to various organizations. This individual will be called upon to lead focused studies, research projects, conduct strategic engagements, and respond to time critical analytical questions. The ideal candidate will have breadth and depth of experience as a targeteer and some familiarity with space as a warfighting domain. This position will require travel and engagement with senior officials across the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD). Individuals must be proficient in standard office software applications and capable of devising practical and sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and experiential insights into the current state of conventional targeting policies, processes, tools, and technologies
  • Conduct research and lead a focused study on policy, process, tools, and technologies needed for the space targeting enterprise
  • Guide development of strategic initiatives or plans; provide recommended courses of action for implementation
  • Review written products or assessments created by others; suggest edits, additional findings, or alternative solutions
  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with government and contract mission partners across the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Coordinate recurring or one-time meetings, working groups, or project teams; prepare minutes, track status of various projects, draft white papers/briefings and present recommendations to decision makers as required
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Top Secret clearance with SCI adjudication; willingness to obtain SAP access
  • Bachelor’s degree in international affairs, business administration, accounting, finance, engineering, computer science, physics, math, history, or related fields
  • Intelligence professional with a minimum of 10 years’ experience supporting all aspects of the intelligence cycle in both the air & space domains
  • Certified targeteer through recognized service or joint course (e.g. USAF Combat Targeting Course, Joint Targeting School, etc…)
  • Comprehensive understanding of the mission, structure and operations of the IC, DoD, services, and combatant commands
  • Comfortable interacting with senior leaders within the Air Force, the Space Force, the Intelligence Community, and Department of Defense
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, responsible team player able to work independently with minimal daily direction
  • Experience managing resources (time, people, money) to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Open to occasional travel

  • Intelligence professional with a minimum of 20 years’ experience supporting all aspects of the intelligence cycle in both the air & space domains
Global Comp 150,000 - 200,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
