Position QualificationsEducation and ExperienceHigh school graduate or equivalent.
Prior Housekeeping And Supervisory Experience Preferred.Must have a valid driver's license.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists in development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures and standards of work.
- Provides leadership and guidance to departmental personnel.
- Assists the Facilities Manager in developing the department’s annual budget.
- Maintains a current inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Maintains proficiency in all techniques and equipment used by the Housekeeping Department.
- Investigates, documents, and reports all unusual occurrences to the Facilities Manager.
- Ensures that patient care units are adequately stocked with linen.
- Monitors linen usage and reviews statistics with the Facilities Manager.
- Ensures all equipment is tested regularly.
- Schedules personnel for proper coverage of the facility.
- Conducts orientation and ongoing training for departmental personnel.
- Provides regularly scheduled in-services to departmental personnel.
- Maintains records of orientation and in-service training programs.
- Assists the Facilities Manager in completing performance evaluations.
- Participates in information management, performance improvement and infection control program.
- Represents and participates in committees and task forces as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
- Assists the Facilities Manager in meeting compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Supports and carries out facility policies.
- Carries out duties safely and uses safety devices provided to protect self and others. Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
- Promotes service excellence by demonstrating polite, cooperative, and respectful behavior to both internal and external customers.
- Assumes responsibility for completing mandatory educational requirements.
- Safeguards security and confidentiality of data/information according to HIPAA guidelines.
- Carries out duties safely and uses safety devices provided to protect self and others. Report safety hazards as appropriate.
