Summary/Objectives

The Print Production Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of bindery equipment in the RJ Young Print Shop located on the campus of TN Tech University in Cookeville, TN. The primary objectives are to learn, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot print production equipment, perform bindery and finishing functions as required, and quality check finishing and packaging of products. The Print Production Operator will be trained to work as part of a highly skilled 4 person team. This position will also be responsible for staying on top of production deadlines, organizing leftover materials for storage and disposition, as well as maintain a clean and orderly work area.

• Operation of print and finishing equipment such as digital print production presses, wide format roll fed and flat bed printers, cutters, automatic punch, laminator, coil / spiral binders, perfect binder, score/perf/fold equipment, collators, shrink wrap tunnel, padding equipment, etc.
• Quality check finishing jobs.
• Ensure customer satisfaction.
• Meet all deadlines, including rush orders.
• Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships.
• Operation of various equipment throughout production when needed.
• Confidence to work within multiple areas within the organization to deliver projects from concept to completion.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at any time.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional print shop environment. It is fast paced and works closely with the team, and the customer. This role uses print production equipment, works in shipping software and package and handling.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 60 lbs.

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
