Summary of Duties:
Provide complete and accurate trade specific estimates. Assemble Bid Tab with estimates and vendor/sub quotes. Coordinate and clarify scope internally and externally. Identify value engineering opportunities and fill in minor design/score gaps.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Must have solid understanding of estimation process.
Accountability:
· Comply with all company policies and procedures.
· All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.
· RK Mechanical employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirement of RK Mechanical Orientation.
Qualifications:
Primary
Estimator 1
· Indirect supervision.
· Requires the use of advanced techniques and knowledge within his/her function.
· Applies diversified knowledge of applicable principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments.
· Makes decisions independently regarding complexities and methods.
· Supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy matters.
· Liaison to groups within and outside of his/her organization with responsibility to act independently regarding matters pertaining to his/her function.
· College/University graduate with 7 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.
Professional
Estimator 2
· Indirect supervision.
· Fully competent in all conventional aspects of subject matter or functional area.
· Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standards.
· Devises new solutions to problems encountered.
· Independently performs most assignments with instruction
· Receives guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisor approval for changes in standards.
· 3 years of relevant experience.
· College/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.
