RK is Hiring a Director of Operations Near Aurora, CO

DescriptionAs a second-generation, family-owned enterprise, RK Industries, LLC (RK) offers a diverse range of construction, manufacturing, advanced fabrication and building services. Position And Responsibilities Overview
  • Train and develop a high-performance Operations team.
  • Provide the leadership to create world-class Operations processes and procedures
  • Implement Operations programs including policies, practices, procedures, systems, and documentation
  • Completes or coordinates basic accounting, project cost and trend reports, WIP, CSRs, and monthly forecasts in conjunction with the financial team
  • Review and monitor the Operations Team preparation and setup of budgets, billings and change orders, and negotiation of subcontractors, monitoring of labor hours and project costs, coordination with suppliers.
  • Negotiate and manage contractual agreements with subcontractors, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Coordinate timely completion of procurement procedures in conjunction with the purchasing team
  • Responsible for the administration of the signed subcontract requirements with respect to conformance with agreements, contract documents, and change orders
  • Coordinate ordering, processing, and delivery of materials and equipment with OEMs, vendors and purchasing.
  • Responsible for initiating, overseeing, and verifying billings
  • Verify that all materials invoiced and work billed has been delivered to manufacturing facility
  • Ensure turnover and pre-production planning meetings are conducted
  • Confirm bid matches contracted work and that an accurate budget is developed
  • Ensure prompt review and processing of purchase orders, contract and subcontract agreements
  • Provide training, mentoring, coaching and leadership to Operations team
  • Ensure productivity tracking is implemented, updated and analyzed on a weekly basis
  • Ensure that all RKMC Projects monthly cost projections are accurately and timely completed
  • Maintain owner, customer, engineer and vendor relationships as required
  • Continuously improve utilizing input from the team on improving procedures, productivity and efficiency
Qualifications
  • A track record of achievement of Project Management and delivery with complex projects/programs
  • Deep multi- disciplined experience in Project Management, Product Management, and Integration. Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Leader with exceptional attention to detail, admin skills and work ethic
  • 10 years data center, power and modular construction
  • 10 years of customer facing experience serving as a liaison with suppliers, customers, and the market.
  • A bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Experience in the construction, manufacture and integration of mission critical facilities and modular products.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Strong and confident negotiator with the ability and finesse to negotiate at all levels, internally and externally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, influencing, and problem-solving skills
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against deadlines
  • Manufacturing Lean Six Sigma training and experience
  • Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in the Microsoft suite and databases.
  • Experience in a fast-paced hands-on business environment with responsibility for a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
  • Ability to negotiate critical and controversial issues with Company leadership
  • Ability to make authoritative decisions and recommendations having significant impact on the Company
  • Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing and guiding extensive programs and activities of importance
  • Capable of leading and influencing individuals, peers and executives
  • Experience with ERP and project management systems; including Viewpoint and Bluebeam

Safety is Our Top Priority

  • RK Mechanical employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirements of RK Mechanical Orientation, shop specific orientation, CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Identification and Reporting, and OSHA 10.
Minimum Physical Requirements
  • Work predominately inside and in dusty and noisy areas
  • Work in high places, tight places, and confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Ability to balance, kneel, squat, crouch, bend, lean, stand, walk, and climb
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that include heat and cold
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
  • Noise levels can fluctuate from quiet to loud
  • Hazards associated with the industry
  • Ability to travel and engage in customer activities off hours
