Position Title: Quality Assurance ManagerCompany Overview: RMB Environmental Laboratories, Inc. is an esteemed network of Environmental Laboratories accredited by The NELAC Institute (TNI), specializing in comprehensive environmental testing services. We are committed to delivering accurate and reliable results while adhering to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team. The Quality Assurance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all laboratory operations meet or exceed TNI accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. This individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a robust quality management system (QMS) to uphold the integrity and reliability of our testing processes.
Position is opening as the current Senior Quality Assurance Director is moving to role of General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
  • Development and Implementation of Quality Systems: Maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with TNI accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation and Record Management: Oversee the creation, review, and management of all laboratory documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality manuals, and records, ensuring compliance with TNI guidelines.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to ensure that all laboratory personnel are adequately trained in quality assurance procedures, methods, and regulatory requirements.
  • Internal Audits and Assessments: Plan and conduct regular internal audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of quality systems, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) as necessary.
  • External Audits and Accreditation: Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, inspections, and accreditation assessments conducted by regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing laboratory processes, systems, and performance metrics to drive efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with laboratory operations, ensuring that potential quality issues are proactively addressed and managed.
  • Customer Support and Issue Resolution: Collaborate with laboratory management and staff to address customer inquiries, concerns, and non-conformances related to quality assurance matters, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in regulations, standards, and best practices related to environmental testing and quality assurance, and ensure that laboratory operations remain in compliance at all times.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., chemistry, biology, environmental science) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality management within an environmental laboratory setting, with a thorough understanding of TNI accreditation requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools
  • Experience in leading internal and external audits, inspections, and accreditation assessments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or similar certification preferred but not required.
