As a Purchasing Agent at RNL Homes, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Purchasing Manager in all processes. You will be involved in various aspects of the pre-construction and purchasing phases, ensuring that our projects run smoothly and efficiently from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in bidding on new projects and following up on revised quotes.
  • Upload bids to project management software and verify plans, selections, and options sheets for material order accuracy.
  • Review purchase orders (POs) for each job packet. 
  • Onboard and offboard new vendors.
  • Resolve issues with vendors, contractors, and suppliers, and manage supplier performance.
  • Reconcile invoices with vendors when materials are returned
  • Maintain database for default vendors by community
  • Research and approve variance purchase orders (VPOs) to meet with accounting department deadlines
  • Maintain updated pricing in project management software. 
  • Process change orders on homes under construction within 48 hours. 
  • Provide consistent and strong support to field managers. 
  • Create job start packets for each job. 
  • Release POs by stage in all homes under construction. 
  • Submit paperwork to different municipalities to obtain a building permit, and request all necessary paperwork needed from vendors to be able to receive a building permit. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Suite.
  • Experience with construction build cycles and vendor management.
  • Home construction industry experience.
  • Familiarity with construction project management software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Being able to work in a fast-paced environment.
