Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico is Hiring a Finance and Budget Analyst (On-Site) Near Albuquerque, NM

This position is instrumental in ensuring the efficient and compliant management of Roadrunner Food Bank’s actual and in-kind budgeted revenue sources, covering the gamut from federal, state, and corporate grants to individual, foundation, and estate giving. Working under the general direction of the CFO, the Finance and Budget Analyst will work closely with Finance and Development staff to develop and monitor budgetary burn rates, major grant receivables, and specific general ledger account balances. They will generate monthly financial reports for internal and external dissemination, monitor expense burn rates and revenue projections, prepare invoices for State and Federal fund reimbursements, and reconcile and report on investment accounts and restricted assets. The ideal candidate will have an analytical outlook, an inquisitive mind, and a desire to support a worthy mission in the State of New Mexico.

Primary Responsibilities

· Work with CFO, Controller, and finance team to reconcile and present monthly financial data to internal and external stakeholders

· Supports the production of budget-to-actual reporting for the entire organization

· Manages the finance department’s portion of the annual budget preparation process

· Provides statistics for evaluating KPIs across the organization

· Monitors investment performance and liquidity ratios in conjunction with the CFO, provides recommendations, as needed

· Review, reconcile, and post adjustments to Federal and State food grants

· Prepare invoices and track receivables relating to State and Federal donors

· Prepares monthly revenue reports for Development, Finance and Program staff review

· Manages pledges receivable accounts and reconciliation process, updates relevant schedules, communicates results to development team

· Generates financial reports for CFO/Controller as required and as needed

· Manages and assists with year-end close and documentation preparation for external auditors

· Assists Finance staff with annual single audit

· Recommends policy and process changes that can improve compliance and efficiency

· In collaboration with finance team and other departments, coordinate and organize meetings on topics of interest related to investments, finance and accounting

· Performs other duties as assigned

Travel Requirement

This is a hybrid on-site and telecommuting position and does not require travel.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, required.

· 3-4 years’ work experience in an accounting/finance department preferred.

· Experience working with federal and state grants; knowledge of compliance requirements.

· Knowledge of investments and statistics preferred.

· Interest in hunger relief, food access, community building, and local and regional food systems work a plus.

· Highly organized with superior attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.

· Ability to think strategically and to resolve problems.

· Ability to work collaboratively across functional and programmatic teams and amongst diverse people and groups.

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills,

· Enthusiastic attitude and ability to work as part of a team.

· Results and impact driven, with the ability to manage time effectively by prioritizing tasks and managing competing priorities.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office environment and standard office equipment.
