This position provides support for school-based personnel division wide. Promoting a data driven understanding and interpretation of student academic data that leads to identifying barriers that contribute to disproportionate outcomes of historically underrepresented students for the purpose of providing recommendations to administrators, instructional coaches and classroom teacher.

• · Coordinates data sharing, data management, and analysis efforts with other staff in Data and Analysis.
• · Data analysis: Independently conducts data analyses for both quantitative and qualitative data. Typically, basic statistical methods to describe, analyze, and interpret data.
• · Engages with content coordinators with the purpose of leading instructional transformation to better meet the academic learning needs of Roanoke City students and close achievement gaps.
• · Facilitates professional learning on division dashboards with the purpose of continuous improvement and providing real-time data for various roles in the division.
• · Analyzes trends, identifies opportunities, and quantifies the potential value of new initiatives.
• · Fulfills data requests from executive staff, administrators, and other staff.

• Preferred knowledge skills and abilities include, but are not limited to:
• · Operating standard office equipment including using a variety of software applications.
• · Understanding of project management.
• · Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans.
• · Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• · Ability to multi-task while maintaining individually assigned deadlines.
• · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators and staff.
• · Knowledge of Virginia’s Standards of Learning and accreditation requirements is preferable.
• · Data visualization tools experience preferable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required, with experience in educational data. Two to five years of experience working as a data analyst is preferred. Experience using intermediate and advanced word processing, databases, and spreadsheets. Excellent written communication and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,811.00 - $60,665.00 per year
